Update


The apparition shimmered into existence between Nathan and the blackboard.

“I am the Embodiment of the Theory of the Earth Centered Universe.” The being was defiant, raising its fists.

“You were disproven ages ago.” Nathan’s tone was scornful.

“Oh my,” the apparition immediately began to fade, “I didn’t know that.”

It was also written for my challenge: Write a Great Novel in 50 Words or Less. The title does not count against the word limit, but cannot be used to tell any of the story.

I have been writing, in some form or another, since 1967. In that year, I wrote a rather silly story about a cat and a mouse which my teacher allowed me to read in "episodes" when there was time at the end of class. While it may have been mainly for the break from teaching the rest of my classmates said they enjoyed it. I was hooked. I do not remember what year or on what board I made my first poetry post, but I have been around quite a while. In June 2015, I became a quadriplegic, which is why I have not been around for some time. I am now using voice recognition software called Dragon Naturally Speaking in order to post. I thank God that I still have my brain and my voice. To quote from Monty Python's Holy Grail, "I'm not dead yet!"
